NPPI • Nova SBE Public Policy Institute
The Nova SBE Public Policy Institute (NPPI) aims to be a leading hub where business and public policy converge to generate impactful research and education that drives better governance. It seeks to act as a catalyst for public policy analysis, experimentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and real-world application.
To achieve this, it:
- Advances rigorous public policy research with a clear focus on real-world impact and measurable policy change.
- Trains current and future policymakers through targeted education programs and initiatives.
- Bridges research, policy, and civil society to strengthen the design and implementation of public policies for the public good.
The institute’s Haddad Productivity Lab was launched in January 2025, with generous funding from the Haddad Foundation. This research lab is an integral part of the NPPI’s goal to promote the production and dissemination of actionable knowledge aimed at improving productivity in Portugal and beyond.
EQUALNovaERA Project
Funded by the European Union under the ERA Chair Programme, EQUALNovaERA aims to position Nova School of Business & Economics (Nova SBE) as a leading international hub for research and action on the drivers and impacts of inequality. Through research, education, and community engagement, the project contributes to strengthening the European Research Area (ERA) and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our work spans health, education, development, environment, gender, and labor.
